This Saturday, the BCCS team came together to support a vaccination pod, ensuring 125 people in our family of organizations were vaccinated. The event was organized by AHRC Nassau, CDNY, PHP and Community Care RX. Melissa Torres, a BCCS Office Manager at the Education Center, shared she got vaccinated “so she can feel safe and live life.”

Cassandra Bradshaw, a Manager at the BCCS Children’s Residential Program, said she’s “tired of wondering when she is going to get sick, and wants to keep her family protected.”
The mother/daughter duo of Diane and Amanda Lentini of Barbara C Wilson shared “they got vaccinated because they want to spend more time with family.”
Debra Wilson from BCCS Marcus Avenue wanted to share that she is “just doing her part to keep everyone safe.”
Todd Trainer, a Teacher’s Assistant at the Education Center, got vaccinated because he “wants to protect the kids he supports and his family.”
Janet Scholnick, a Teacher at our SUNY Old Westbury Preschool program noted that “she got the shot because of Chris”. After a little further probing it was learned that she was on the fence about receiving the vaccine until she watched the latest webinar conducted by Nicole Ferrar and Chris O’Connor.
Gina Goldsmith, an employee at Barbara C. Wilson, got vaccinated because “I want to see and spend time with my parents!”
Shaina Bills, a Teacher’s Assistant at the Education Center, came with her mother employee Pam Bills, a Residential Manager at AHRC. Shaina noted she wanted the vaccine because she “wanted to protect her daughter and the children she works with.”
Patty Petrill, a Teacher at the Education Center got vaccinated because “I just don’t want to get Covid.”
