Young Men supported by Children’s Residential Program Enjoy Upstate New York Fall Getaway

From Lido Beach to the Catskill Mountains!

There’s no better way to spend a crisp fall weekend than in the mountains. That’s why the young men supported by the Children’s Residential Program (CRP) in Lido Beach, joined by a team of caring staff, took a trip to the Catskill Mountains region of upstate New York, staying at our beautiful partner camp, Camp Loyaltown.

Four young men supported by Children’s Residential Program at Camp LoyaltownFor John, Alex, Noah, Jackson, Kyle, Ryan, Joey, and Michael, the journey was an adventure in itself, watching out the car windows as Long Island’s familiar surroundings transformed into the rolling hills of Hunter, New York.

A full itinerary kept everyone busy all weekend, exploring the region and everything it has to offer. A local apple orchard provided a true farm getaway, with hayrides and friendly animals eager for treats. A quick stop at a local mall added a change of pace, where everyone enjoyed window shopping, food court snacks, and people-watching.

With Camp Loyaltown hosting, the young men played basketball with Hunter Mountain as their backdrop, relaxed under the pavilion, and explored trails perfect for walking. The nearly 20 acres of Camp Loyaltown provided endless ways to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

The trip also gave CRP staff an opportunity to learn about each young man’s unique interests, encouraging them to explore the rustic surroundings in new ways.

Though a quick weekend getaway, everyone returned feeling refreshed after a break from Long Island’s hustle and bustle, ready for the next adventure and grateful for these fall memories.
