Marcus Avenue Preschool Says Farewell to Decades-long Teacher
A bittersweet celebration took place at Marcus Avenue Preschool this June, just days before students ended the school year saying their goodbyes ahead of the summer session. Teachers and staff also gathered to say goodbye to Sharon Levenson, a Special Education Teacher who has been supporting young learners for decades.
Sharon celebrated her retirement at a luncheon with her colleagues. In the school gym, staff hung banners, decorated with balloons, and shared a meal while recounting stories from the last 28 years.
“Sharon has been an incredible asset to our students and families,” said Paula DeVita, Director of Marcus Avenue Preschool. “Her presence brought joy to so many, and she has left a lasting, meaningful impact on the entire Marcus community.”
We are deeply thankful for Sharon’s years of dedication and the lasting difference she’s made in the lives of hundreds of students. While she’s retiring from her full-time position, Sharon will continue supporting young learners at Marcus as a substitute teacher. Thank you, Sharon, and congratulations.
