Brookville Center For Children Services

who we are

About Us: Brookville Center for Children's Services

At Brookville Center for Children’s Services (BCCS), we believe every child deserves to learn, grow, and be understood. We provide a warm, inclusive environment where children with developmental delays and disabilities are supported by caring professionals who value each child’s individuality.

Our programs, approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the Department of Health (DOH), are designed not only to meet developmental and educational needs, but also to build trusting partnerships with families. From early intervention through school-age services and beyond, we’re here to support children in becoming confident, engaged, and socially connected members of their communities.

Our History

Brookville Center for Children’s Services has deep roots in the community, beginning in 1967 with the opening of the Children’s Education Center.

In 2009, BCCS expanded significantly by integrating programs from AHRC Nassau and the North Shore–LIJ Health System (now Northwell Health), including programs from Schneider Children’s Hospital (now Cohen Children’s Medical Center).

Today, BCCS supports over 700 children and their families across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. As part of the AHRC Nassau family, we are committed to providing inclusive, high-quality education and care.

Our Purpose

At BCCS, our purpose is to provide comprehensive services to children (ages 0–22) with developmental delays and disabilities, with a strong emphasis on helping families understand their child’s strengths and areas of need.

Our programs support learning, communication, social development, and daily living skills in nurturing, structured environments. All services are delivered by highly trained clinical, educational, and support professionals who work in partnership with families every step of the way.

Accomplishments/Achievements

For students who continue with BCCS, our school-age program offers a robust transition curriculum, as well as home and community-based supports to promote lifelong learning and independence.

Our Services Help All Ages with All Levels of Needs

BCCS’ goal is to improve the overall quality of life of everyone that we encounter. Our services are designed to help individuals with IDD and their families prepare for and persevere over life’s different stages and obstacles.
