Celebrating Halloween at BCCS

A BCCS student wears a Halloween shirt that reads "BOO!"Across our schools and services, children and young adults celebrated with costumes, trick-or-treating, and parades—sharing the holiday fun with friends, family and staff.

Here are a few moments from BCCS Halloween 2025:

“Sticker Treat!” at Barbara C. Wilson Preschool

To practice for trick-or-treating later in the day, students at Barbara C. Wilson (BCW) Preschool went door-to-door down the school’s hallway. Instead of candy, students received stickers!

BCW staff, including curriculum coordinators and therapists, waited behind their office doors for classes to stop by. Some students knocked on the door, while other students patiently waited for the door to open. When it did, students said, or communicated, “Trick or treat!”

Children’s Education Center Halloween Parade

The annual Children’s Education Center Halloween Parade is an event students, families and staff look forward to all year long.

In costume, students, families and staff participated in a parade to cheers echoing around the Brookville campus.

Trick or Treat at the Children’s Residential Program

Three Children's Residential Program reisdents and staff wear costumes on Halloween. The Children’s Residential Program (CRP) brought their annual Trunk or Treat tradition indoors this year due to high wind, but the festive energy was as strong as ever.

At the Lido Beach residence, young men and women supported by the CRP, along with their families and staff, visited each house, filling their bags with candy, snacks, and prizes. The Wantagh residence joined in the fun and was represented in the CRP office.

Everyone had an amazing Halloween, capturing pictures and memories of Halloween 2025.

Post Avenue Halloween Fair

At Post Avenue Preschool, teachers and students dressed up in costume to enjoy a sensory-friendly Halloween Fair. Parents were invited to join their children and participate in the activity stations laid out across the schoolyard.

Students dug their little hands through rice bins to find fall-themed toys to collect in goodie bags. They searched through spider-web like mesh to grab fuzzy balls and other jelly toys, then students stopped by to the pumpkin path to take photos and grab a gourd to decorate.

Marcus Avenue’s Vibrant Craft-Filled Halloween

Over by Marcus Avenue Preschool, tiny princesses, mummies, and superheroes filled classrooms ready for a day of fun and play. Teachers planned special activities for them to celebrate Halloween.

In their costumes, students went trick-or-treating from class to class. Back in the classroom, children engaged in Halloween-themed arts and crafts. Teachers gave them small pumpkins to paint and embellish with stickers; they also split them open to explore the seeds and pulp inside.

It was an eventful day for students across our programs, one filled with joy, fun and learning.
