Course description: Neurologically diverse children growing up in a screen-based world struggle with self-regulation, attention, focus, and sustained participation in activity demands at baseline. The research shows that these difficulties are exacerbated by the effects of screen time on the developing brain. As an occupational therapist or physical therapist working in schools, interventions need to be accessible, dynamic, and targeted to maximize outcomes. This course will introduce you to a new framework for intervention while providing you with treatment progressions for session planning and templates for redesigning sensory diets. With this model, you will be able to improve team collaboration and cross-training while better addressing the complex needs of this generation of learners.

Sensational Achievements launched Body Activated Learning ™ in 2015 with the goal of helping parents, teachers, and other professionals adapt their approach to supporting neurologically diverse children using sensory principles to optimize the brain and body for learning. Children growing up in a digital generation and post COVID world face unique challenges that require shifting your lens while creating integrated support plans that can benefit every child, regardless of their abilities. In November 2025, she published her new book Uniquely Human: Raising Leaders and Creators in a Digital World with the goal of helping more parents and adults who support children understand the unique challenges facing this generation and the 5 pillars needed to raise children that will thrive as adults in an AI world.
