Brookville Center For Children Services

Home & Community-Based Program at BCCS

The Home & Community-Based Program at BCCS offers therapeutic and educational services to children in their own home, preschool, daycare, or other approved community-based sites.

BCCS has a great reputation in providing research-based interventions that focus on maximizing the skills of children within the Autism spectrum and other disabilities in the home and community settings.

All providers are New York State certified in their area of expertise and have various years working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and special education.

Early Intervention (EI) Services

Children between the ages of birth to 3 years old with a suspected developmental delay may be evaluated to determine eligibility for services upon referral from the Nassau or Suffolk County Department of Health (depending on where you live).  Every evaluation assesses the motor, language, cognitive, adaptive and social emotional development of each child.

If eligible for services, individualized goals are designed to meet the needs of each child and family.  Services, using a multidisciplinary approach, are then provided in the setting that best suits the needs of each child and family.  BCCS is committed to assisting children birth to 3 years old in achieving their full potential within their natural environments

The following EI services can be provided at home or in a daycare or nursery school setting:

Preschool (CPSE) Services

The focus of the Preschool Special Education Program is to enhance child development and provide an education which will foster language, learning, creativity and socialization.

Preschool children 3-5 years of age may receive Special Education Itinerant services (SEIT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and/or Related Services (Speech, OT, PT, and Parent Training) in their home or school.

These services must first be determined by the child’s school district Committee on Preschool Special Education and reflected on their IEP.

School Age Services

School age students (5-21 years old) can receive Special Education Services, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Behavior Intervention Services, and/or Related Services (Speech, OT, PT, and Parent Training) within their own home as well as other approved community-based sites.

These services must first be determined by the child’s school district Committee on Special Education and reflected on their IEP.
