Reach for the Stars Event Shines Bright at Brookville Mansion

Attendees at Reach for the StarsFrom the heart of the Brookville campus, a hundred parents, staff, and friends came together on Oct. 9 for an evening of community, celebration and inspiration at the annual “Reach for the Stars” fundraiser, showing that when a community comes together, the sky really is the limit.

This year’s event raised nearly $50,000 supporting the Children’s Education Center and its programs development of the model apartment, coffee bar, and other programs nurturing learning, growth, and lifelong friendships.

BCCS Board President Al Capra shared, “I appreciate spending this night with you all. There’s just a whole community of people who are absolutely amazing, who not only play an important role in my son’s life and education but for so many other children. For that, I’m really truly grateful.”

Director Denise Gaughan, and event co-organizer Linda Mancuso also spoke, highlighting the ways the Children’s Education Center creates learning, independence, and meaningful connections for students ages 3 to 21.

Year after year, the families share knowledge, support one another, and build connections that reach far beyond the classroom.

This year’s event was organized by Linda Mancuso and Stacey Drakakis, co-chairs of the Reach for the Stars committee, and would not have been possible without the generosity of dedicated sponsors:  Drakakis family, the Greenstein family, the Helfant family, our Starlight sponsors; The Dolce family, Robyn and Brandon Semilof, our Shooting Star sponsors; and the Capra family, our Entertainment sponsors.
