Samantha Wohlmacher, Marcus Avenue Speech Pathologist, Awarded Employee of the Quarter
“I knew I wanted to work with children in high school,” said Samantha Wohlmacher, Speech Language Therapist at Marcus Avenue Preschool. On October 16, Samantha was honored as Employee of the Quarter for her hard work and dedication supporting Marcus Avenue students.
“I feel very appreciated!” Samantha said. “All the therapists and teachers I work with are so supportive and I have learned so much from them. It feels nice that they recognize what I have to bring to the table.”
Samantha was selected by her peers because of her meaningful contributions to the program and for being a resourceful and responsive teammate. From a young age, Samantha has volunteered with preschool programs and enrolled in classes that support communication in all forms including an American Sign Language course. It was there that she discovered the field of speech language pathology.
“I started volunteering to help with a play that was run by the Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) in my district, and knew I would love working in this field,” said Samantha.
Samantha joined Marcus Avenue in September of 2024 and has made a meaningful impact.
“It says a lot about you that you’re here at this moment after only being with us for such a short time,” said Paula DeVita, Director. “It speaks to who you are as a clinician and as a coworker. You have made tremendous progress with your students, and I can tell you that the families notice and appreciate that as well. Congratulations on this award, we’re so happy to have you on our team.”
